A NEW ‘botanical’ restaurant could be coming to Bournemouth’s town centre very soon.
The Botanist, a restaurant with a floral twist, has applied for a licence to trade from Bobby’s in The Square.
The restaurant, which describes itself as a place where “antiquities and trinkets hang from the walls, and resident botanists craft unusual concoctions”, has proposed to offer late night refreshments from 11pm to 1am Sunday to Wednesday and 11pm to 2am Thursday to Saturday.
They have also applied to have a supply of alcohol as well as live and recorded music playing from 9am seven days a week.
The Botanist has more than 20 restaurants across the country, including in Exeter, Bath and Alderley Edge.
Tim McCormac, Property Director at New World Trading Company said: “We’re currently in discussions regarding the opportunity to open a new venue in Bournemouth.
"Whilst an agreement is yet to be made, we’re very excited about the prospect of bringing our unique brand, The Botanist, to the city and being part of its exciting future.”

The Botanist has proposed to be on the fourth floor of Bobby’s.
Bobby’s department store, first opened in 1915 in The Square in Bournemouth town centre, recently reopened in its former location after Debenhams took over the building in 1972.
The building is now home to various venues, including toy store Flaming Nora’s, Born to Bloom florist and the GIANT gallery.
