THE last visible symbol of Barclays on its major office operation in Poole came to an end with a removal of the bank’s eagle symbol.
Cranes were up outside Barclays House in the town centre last Saturday to take down the iconic blue bird from the top of the huge building.
Barclays called time on more than 40 years at the site earlier this year.
The bank is yet to dispose of the site. BCP Council took the decision not to go ahead with a formal offer after entering an exclusivity period over the summer months.
Most of the 700 Barclays staff who worked out of the building were relocated to a site in the Lansdowne area of Bournemouth.
The Daily Echo approached Barclays for an update on the situation with the Poole site.
The bank said the disposal of Barclays House was commercially sensitive and ongoing, with it not being appropriate to comment on any interested party or potential acquisition.
