BONFIRE night is upon us with a host of organised events taking place across the area.
Events big and small will be taking place across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and beyond over the coming days.
This year November 5 falls on a Saturday with many of the events held on the day.
Here’s a round-up of what’s on when and where.
1. Bournemouth’s huge firework display returns to the Littledown Centre on Saturday, November 5. There will be displays at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm, plus a funfair, food and drink, a family indoor zone, sports and more. For tickets, visit LittledownFireworks.co.uk.
2. Wareham Wednesday Bonfire and Firework Extravaganza is back with a bang on Friday, November 4. The display will be held at Swanage and Wareham Rugby Club in Bestwall Road, Wareham, with doors open from 6pm. There will be live music, food stalls, a bar, fire shows, a barbecue and funfair. Entry costs £5 on the door and is free for children under 10.
3. A free fireworks fiesta comes to Poole Quay on Saturday, November 5. The display will start at 8pm but the party starts from 5pm with live music, family entertainment and activities ahead of the event. Visitors have been warned to expect delays due to the popularity of the event and use either the Dolphin Shopping Centre or Harbourside Park car parks.
4. Sparks in the Dark celebrates its 25th anniversary at Haymoor Junior School on Friday, November 4. Gates open at 6pm with the display at 8pm. There will be a DJ and music plus sweet treats on sale. Entry costs £5 in advance and £6 on the gate for adults and £4 in advance for children and £5 on the gate. A family ticket costs £14 in advance only. Tickets available from http://sparksinthedark.co.uk and all proceeds go towards school funds.
5. Butchers Coppice Scout Camp in Duck Lane at Bear Cross hosts a traditional family fireworks and bonfire display on Saturday, November 5. Gates open at 5.30pm with the bonfire lit at 6pm. A guy competition takes place at 6.30pm before a fireworks display at 7.30pm. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £8 in advance and £10 on the day, with adult tickets £4 in advance and £5 on the day. Children's tickets are £2 in advance and £2.50 on the day.
6. East Dorset Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club Fireworks Night will light up the skies on Saturday, November 5. Gates open at 5pm with fireworks from 7pm. There will be activities for all ages, a toddler play area, hot food stalls, ice cream and a bar which will be open till late. Entry will be by e-ticket with no tickets available on the gate. Tickets are priced at £8 for those aged 15 and over, £2 for children and entry is free for those under two. Family tickets are £24 for two adults and two children. 7. Ringwood's Grand Fireworks spectacle comes to Carvers Recreation Ground on Sunday, November 6. Gates open at 3pm with children's entertainment at 4.30pm, followed by a quiet 'low bangs' display at 5.30pm. Swing Unlimited Big Band will entertain the crowds at 6pm before the bonfire is lit at 6.15pm rounded off with a fireworks display at 7pm. Advanced tickets are £2 per person, tickets on the gate will be £4. They can be purchased from Ringwood Gateway & Carvers Clubhouse.
8. Sturminster Marshall Golf Club Fireworks Night returns after a two-year absence on Friday, November 4. Gates open at 5pm with the bonfire lit at 6.30pm followed by a fireworks display at 7pm.
