A 16-YEAR-OLD skateboarder was hospitalised after a reported 'hit-and-run' crash.
Police are searching for a driver of a Fiat 500 in either white or cream in relation to the incident in Christchurch.
The driver is described as a female with long blonde hair. She reportedly failed to stop at the scene of the crash.
The boy was crossing the road on his skateboard at the roundabout that connects Somerford, Purewell, Stanpit and Purewell Cross Road on Wednesday, August 17 at around 7.45pm.
As he was crossing the Stanpit arm of the roundabout, it is reported that a vehicle collided with him, sending his skateboard under the car and the skateboarder onto the bonnet of the car.
Police say the driver of the vehicle then left the scene in the direction of Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre.
The skateboarder sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident or anybody with dashcam footage to come forward.
PC Greg Johnson of Bournemouth Police said: “The driver involved in this collision failed to stop at the scene and left a pedestrian requiring hospital treatment.
“Enquiries so far have narrowed down potential vehicles, however I am still trying to locate the driver of the vehicle involved.
“I understand that this incident occurred a few months ago, however, I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please contact us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
“This also may include people who have been told about the incident by the driver or have noticed a vehicle matching the description that potentially may have damage on.”
