Bournemouth’s Christmas Tree Wonderland will officially launch today. 

The popular spectacle attracts thousands of people to town centre each year.

This year's event will see some new attractions for visitors alongside some old favourites.

When is it open?

Christmas Tree Wonderland runs between Friday, November 18 and Monday, January 2.

Where does it take place?

The heart of the event is in the Lower Gardens but there will be features and illuminations throughout the town from the seafront through to the Square and then up to the Triangle, Beale Place, Horseshoe Common and the Lansdowne roundabout.

What’s in the trail?

The trail will feature a variety of different Christmas trees of all shapes, sizes and themes.

These include the Warsaw tree, Bethlehem tree, Colour Changing Tree of Light and Seattle and Sphere tree.

The centrepiece is a 60ft walk-through Bournemouth Wonderland Tree with regular light and music shows which take place on the hour and half hour.

What’s new for this year?

New attractions include the Kyiv Tree, Lucerne Tree, Grand Vega Tree and Liberty and Teddy Tree.

There will also be an LED light stone trail at Picnic on the Piste, plus a Romance Arch and Swirls. 

There's also a newly expanded area named The Après Terrace situated on the front terrace of the Pavilion.

The new area will include games, igloo domes, food trucks and lots more. 

Meanwhile, Bournemouth Pier will be lit up with 60 glistening trees as part of Key West’s Christmas offering.

What else it happening?

As previous years, the SKATE Ice Rink and Moguls Bar will be returning in the Lower Gardens.

The ice rink is open Monday to Sunday between 10.30am and 11pm until Tuesday, January 3.

The Moguls Alpine Bar is a huge undercover bar which will serve an array of festive drinks plus draught beers, mulled wine and hot chocolate with VIP seating available and DJs on weekends. Over 18s only in the bar from 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Meanwile, in the Square, you will find the Alpine Christmas Market and Alpine Lodge Bar.

It will feature gifts, plus festive food and drink
