A MAN has been fined by the courts for having a ‘firearm’ in Bournemouth town centre.
Vasile Moraru was in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Thursday, November 10.
This was after the 55-year-old pleaded guilty a hearing back in August to a single charge of having an imitation firearm in Gervis Place.
Court papers stated that Moraru had a blank firing starter pistol in Gervis Place on July 7.
Deputy District Judge Kirsty Allman handed the defendant, whose address was given as Seamoor Road, Bournemouth, a £538 fine along with an order to pay a £215 surcharge and £85 costs.
The judge ordered that police seize the imitation firearm.
