As Christmas Tree Wonderland enters its fifth year, it has revealed a newly expanded area named The Après Terrace that will be situated on the front terrace of the Pavilion.
The new area will include games, igloo domes, food trucks and lots more.
Jon Weaver, head of destination and events, BCP Council said: “We’re very excited to welcome residents and visitors to Bournemouth with the launch this coming Friday.
"Our free festive attraction draws in thousands of people every year and helps support local traders.
“Working with our Town Centre and Coastal BID partners we have got some new light installations to delight everyone this year including a romance arch in Bournemouth Triangle.
"There are also some refreshed Christmas Trees such as the Kyiv tree and a Lucerne Tree in the gardens in recognition of Bournemouth’s twinning with this Swiss town.
"There is also an exciting new LED stepping zone trail as part of Picnic on the Piste in the Lower Gardens and Bournemouth Pier will be lit up with 60 glistening trees as part of Key West’s Christmas offering.
"The ever-popular Christmas market, Alpine Bar and SKATE ice-rink are back for another year and we are very much looking forward to welcoming the first visitors to our town and our wonderful Christmas attraction.”
From November 19 to January 2, residents and visitors to Poole will be able to walk through a light trail that includes sparkling Christmas trees with maritime-themed decorations, a 120-metre under-the-sea light curtain, a giant anchor, and a five-metre-high tall ship.
Poole Harbour will also be lit up with Gobo projectors positioned on four City Cruises festive boats, creating illuminating light illusions on the water as a unique feature of the festival.
Speaking about Poole's new festival, Jon said: “It’s been months in planning, but the brand-new Poole Christmas Maritime Light Festival launches on Saturday night and we’re all really excited to see the installations lit up for the very first time!
“Working with our partners Poole BID, we are celebrating Poole’s rich nautical heritage with a festive twist in this unique offering where you’ll see a giant anchor, tall ship and Christmas trees adorned with seashells and starfish alongside the more traditional Christmas decorations including a walk-through bauble and snowflake.
"Alongside that we’ve got a festive food and drink offering in Falkland Square, and Poole BID have also organised the choirs at Christmas, also launching this Saturday.
"We’re hoping residents and visitors come out and celebrate all that Poole has to offer, increasing footfall and providing an important boost our local hospitality and retail economy.”
