A YOUNG man has been put behind bars for assault and public order offences in a town centre.
Alfie Logan Roper, aged 18 and of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 18 weeks in a young offenders' institution following the incident in New Milton.
Roper pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and one count of public order at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 25.
The court heard how Roper had assaulted a man and woman in Station Road, New Milton, just after 10.30pm on Friday, October 21.
They suffered minor injuries were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Officers carried out enquiries in the local area and located Roper and detained him for the offences.
Appearing at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, November 18, he received the immediate custodial sentence.
He was also issued with a restraining order and told to pay a £154 surcharge.
