ARMED officers and a police dog unit responded to reports that a man was breaking into a vehicle.
Police were alerted to the incident in Broadstone on Friday night.
A spokesperson for Poole Police said officers from the territorial policing response team were assisted by tactical firearms officers and a dog unit.
Following searches of the area a man was arrested.
The spokesperson said the man was assisting officers with their enquiries.
