MOTORISTS have faced lengthy queues and long delays at Sandbanks due to temporary traffic lights.
Drivers have reportedly been nose-to-tail trying to head away from the Poole peninsula on Saturday afternoon.
Roadworks returned to Shore Road this week, with Wessex Water engineers expected to be working on the site at the junction with Haven Road until December 9.
Earlier this year traffic lights in the area caused huge traffic problems.
One motorist said there were stuck in the queues on Saturday said they had been waiting 15 minutes in the Shore Road car park with dozens of other cars.
He said: "It is the three-way traffic lights which are causing the problems. Traffic is at an absolute standstill.
"We started walking back to the car park from the Jazz Cafe to the main Sandbanks car park and it was backed right up then.
"It took us 40 minutes to eventually get out of the car park and then there was a queue all the way to the lights."
The Sandbanks Ferry is currently out of action, so all traffic is believed to be residents and people visiting the waterfront location.
The Daily Echo has contacted Wessex Water for details on the roadworks.
