DORSET Council has installed CCTV at Verwood Recreation ground to combat anti-social behaviour in the area.
A spokesperson from East Dorset Police said: “Dorset Council have installed CCTV in the area of Verwood Recreation ground to try and combat increasing ASB.”
This follows patrols by Dorset Police at the recreation ground in Verwood last month after reports of ASB.
One officer, after walking in a ditch between trees along Vicarage Road, found it to be full of rubbish.
Dorset Police have been working with Verwood Town Council and the community safe team at Dorset Council regarding Vicarage Road and the surrounding area and are working towards making it safer for the people using it.
Potterne Park in Verwood was also vandalised last month after a car gained access and did doughnuts on the grass, damaging more than half the field.
