AN independent business known for its flowers, coffee and homeware has opened a second branch in Bournemouth.

Little Perth, a floral design studio and speciality coffee shop, launched its new store in Westbourne on Friday, November 25.

The Australian-inspired business grew in popularity with its first premises in Southbourne, which was opened in March of last year.

Rohanna Roberts, who owns Little Perth with her husband Jon, said: “We had such a great response in Southbourne, and we are hopeful it will be received in a similar way in Westbourne.”

Whilst the Westbourne store may be slightly smaller in size, it boasts the same product range, from its tied bouquets and wedding flowers to smart pottery and handmade jewellery.

There is, of course, Little Perth’s well-loved cakes and speciality coffee on offer, making it a destination for both shopping, and eating.

Rohanna said: “Originally, we thought we’d do a very similar thing to the Southbourne shop, but actually what we tried to do was gauge the atmosphere of the place we’re opening in.

“We wanted to branch out within Bournemouth, and Southbourne has a particular vibe, and I felt like Westbourne was very similar in the way that they support independents, and have that community feel.

“It has that same vibe.”

Rohanna hopes Little Perth will fit nicely into Westbourne and is keen to build relationships with other independent businesses in the area.

She said: “Here at Little Perth we’re all about community.

“We really are big advocates for independents. We think it’s great to be working together within the community. Competition can be difficult, so you should support and compliment other business where you can.

“There are many independents who are already doing brunch or coffee here, but we knew we could do something different with the flower side.”

In a Facebook post ahead of the opening, Rohanna and Jon shared they were “so excited” to open a store in “such a thriving, welcoming community”.
