TOP NHS leaders in Dorset have praised staff for their "incredible resilience".
After nearly three years of unprecedented pressure with the Covid pandemic, followed by increased demand during summer months and long waiting lists, as well as a recruitment crisis, staff have faced a mountain of challenges.
Speaking to the Daily Echo, Cara Southgate, acting chief nursing officer at Dorset HealthCare said: "It’s not been easy but I am incredibly proud of our staff in Dorset and how they’ve delivered high quality care.

"We’ve all had days when it has been really challenging and really difficult."
Cara said there were lots of things in place to support staff, including psychological help and wellbeing services.
"Each organisation has done things to support staff to let them know how valued they are.
"But I won’t dress anything up around the challenges our colleagues are facing, not only in the NHS but cost of living as well.
"Their resilience is phenomenal and their care is phenomenal."
