The early prediction indicates Dorset may experience "wintry precipitation" as we prepare for a "colder and drier than average" winter.
The beginning of the month is thought to be "colder than average" but mostly dry.
It may be frosty and foggy at times, with the fog being "slow to clear" at times.
It is predicted some bright spells are also likely to develop during the afternoons at the beginning of the month.

The prediction has said that "wintry precipitation" is possible mid month.
It is thought to turn more "unsettled" as there is potential for parts of the Polar Vortex to spill into northeastern Europe during this period.
This would risk wintriness as low pressure systems from the west collide with cold air in place from the British Isles.
During the cold spell, it is likely to become "very cold" initially with an ongoing risk of wintriness.
He said there are "subtle hints" temperatures could return to normal by the end of December, however, this could be set to change.
