Blossoms arrived at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth on a chilly night and delivered a set of songs that not only entertained a full venue but also warmed the soul.
These five lads from Stockport have proved to be festival favourites and can also be relied upon to bring in a decent crowd wherever they play and for good reason.
Starting off with At Most a Kiss, Honey Sweet and Oh No, I Think I’m in Love they set the tone for the rest of the evening.
The band produce songs that are laid back but move along at a pace that keep the crowd dancing for the majority of the night.
Five songs in and we were treated to three songs from the band's most recent offering Ribbon Around the Bomb, the album this tour is supporting.
Ode to NYC, The Sulking Poet and Care For continue the bands run of laid-back pop/soul that has really struck a chord with their ever growing fan base.
The lights and smoke effects perfectly complimented the sound without distracting from the tightness of the band and the cool vocals and movement around the stage of Tom Ogden who has developed into an excellent frontman over the past few years.
Visions and My Swimming Brain led to main set closer My Favourite Room.
Of course it's not long before the band return for a short two song encore culminating with their biggest hit and most popular song of the night Charlemagne.
This was a great night supplied by a band on the rise who on the strength of tonight’s performance will go on to even greater things.
