POLICE have issued a warning to parents following a rise in "dangerous" illegal parking near a Bournemouth school.
Parents have been warned not to use the Madeira Road entrance to Stafford Road when dropping off their children to Livingstone Academy.
A Bournemouth Police spokesperson said: “This week Bournemouth South NPT officers have been working with the staff from Livingstone Academy Bournemouth to ensure the pupils get to school safely due to a rise in cars parking illegally and parents dropping their children off in areas where they shouldn't be doing so.
“Bournemouth Police would like to remind parents to not use the Madeira Road entrance of Stafford Road/Livingstone Academy as a drop off point as this is dangerous for the pupils, pedestrians and other drivers.
“Over the last few days there has been several near misses involving pupils that attend the school. Thankfully no one has been hurt so this is a lesson for us all. “
The spokesperson said police will continue to work with the school and other agencies to come up with a solution to solve the problem.
