THESE stunning pictures show a frozen Bournemouth beach after temperatures plunged again overnight.

The beautiful scene was captured on Friday morning by @kahlo126 on Twitter.

Posting on Twitter he said: "Oh Bournemouth, you frightfully frozen yet serene beauty."

Bournemouth-based forecaster Dorset Snow said temperatures of minus 7C were recorded at Bournemouth Airport at 6am.

This morning he said a cold spell was looking possible until around December 18.

As reported, the weather enthusiast said snow could be seen on Saturday night or into Sunday.

An amber level 3 cold weather alert is currently in force by the Met Office.

The warning will be in place until Friday, December 16.

Over the next week, temperatures are set to remain very low as the cold spell continues.

According to the Met Office forecast, temperatures of around 3C are forecast during the day but it will feel more like freezing or below.

By night, it will feel anywhere between minus 5C and minus 8C over the next few days.
