PROPERTIES in some parts of Dorset are at risk of flooding, the Environment Agency has warned.
A number of flood warnings and alerts are currently in force for areas of the county.
The Environment Agency says “flooding is expected” at the Lower Stour from Sturminster Marshall to Christchurch and also at Christchurch Harbour.
A spokesperson said: “Flooding is expected in this area.
“This means properties are at risk of flooding. Please take action to protect yourself and your property and monitor local weather and river conditions.
“Avoid contact with, walking or driving through flood water. Consider activating any property flood protection products you may have."
The Environment Agency said the flood warning system has issued this message based on rising river or tidal levels.
Meanwhile, a flood alert is in place for Poole Harbour.
The Environment Agency said: “Flooding is possible in this area. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions.
“Avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.”
Currently no weather warnings are in force for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole or wider Dorset.
Today is due to mostly dry with a light shower at 2pm.
Christmas Eve will be dry with highs of 12C.
