WETHERSPOON plans to extend its licence to serve alcohol and play live music and entertainment at one of its Bournemouth pubs.

The Parkstone and Heatherlands, in Wimborne Road, Winton, has applied to BCP Council to extend its licence by an extra half an hour.

The licence proposal could see entertainment and alcohol sales extended from 11pm to 11.30pm every day of the week. A consultation is open until January 16 for residents to submit their thoughts.

Planning permission was recently obtained to push last orders at the pub back from 11pm to 11.30pm, with the closing time now at midnight.

No objections were raised from this recent move, with a noise impact assessment suggesting it would not be an issue anymore.

A council planning officer said in a report: “Whilst it is concluded that the increase opening hours to 12am would result in a slight increase in noise due to the comings and goings of customers, it would be at a relatively low level similar to that experienced in the built-up area.”

The pub is now looking to ensure its premises licence mirrors the conditions of hte planning approval.
