A COUNTRY estate in Dorset, home to a luxury perfume brand and beautiful gardens, is up for sale for nearly £4 million.

Blandford’s Keyneston Mill, home to perfume maker Parterre Fragrances, is now up for sale for an impressive £3.75 million.

The five-bedroom, two-bathroom property comes with a sitting room, an office, kitchen/breakfast room and bistro.

Set on 46-acres of private land, Keyneston Mill boasts impressive botanical gardens featuring aromatic and scented plants used to make the perfume.

Beyond the gardens is a river meadow (which comes with single bank fishing rights), tree-lined avenues and an orchard remaining from when the property was run as a fruit farm.

Keyneston Mill, which is located just off the A350, dates back from early 19th Century but it is believed there has been a mill on this site since the 1100s.

Estate agent Strutt & Parker, of London, described the interior of the property as: “Featuring flagstone flooring, exposed timbers and brickwork, and decorative vintage fireplaces, the accommodation comprises four, versatile ground floor reception rooms, which include the sociable setting of a family room and adjoining kitchen/breakfast room.

“With a stunning, red Aga stove at its heart, the kitchen is fitted with farmhouse-style, wood-fronted cabinetry and two Belfast sinks, with an adjacent utility room which incorporates a cloakroom.”

Keyneston Mill has been closed for several weeks during the winter months and is usually open to guests. An adult ticket to the garden is £9.50.

It is unclear why the current owner has decided to sell the property. They have been approached by the Daily Echo for clarity on the mill’s future and whether it will reopen.
