A NEW shop which has recently opened in Poole has taken nicheness to a whole new level and has a unique selling point like no other.
Lavender Moon, which opened in December in Poole Old Town, sells cowboy clothes and accessories AND aromatherapy products and crystals.
The brainchild of 27-year-old Bethany Holland, Lavender Moon, in High Street, was inspired by her love for holistic and wellness alongside western style and country music.
The budding entrepreneur and ambulance service worker said: “I was travelling around the country quite a bit and eventually wanted to settle in my hometown, so I decided to open Lavender Moon.
“It blends two sides of me: I’m a bit of a country girl but am also quite spiritual and love crystals and tarot.”
Lavender Moon sells cowboy boots, bags made from real cow skin from her brand Bethany Rae, necklaces, clothes amongst other things.

Bethany said the reaction from people so far has been “incredible”, adding: “I’ve been amazed at how many country music fans we have in Poole.
“But at the same time it makes it a really inclusive place because there is something for everyone. We sell quirky items you won’t find in the high street.
“When you put them together it makes for a fun and interesting combination.”
She added the type of customer she expects to attract to the shop is somebody who is “a little bit different” and embraces things that not everybody else has and is more personal.

“Holistics is pretty popular these days with the growth of yoga, mental health and people wanting to find things that will make them feel better,” Bethany added.
“That side is very popular; the western side is very niche, however. There are about four companies in the UK which specialise in it and they are all my friends.
“The two actually cross over really nicely and it makes for nice, unusual clothes that you won’t get in your average high street shop.”
Bethany, who dropped to part time hours with the ambulance service to pursue and grow her business, built Lavender Moon with a chronic illness and wanted to show people it is “ok to pursue your dream if you have a chronic illness.”
