AN RAF Typhoon was spotted in the skies over Dorset on Thursday.
Eagle-eyed residents said they heard the roar of the iconic Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft as it flew over the area, with a stop at Bournemouth Airport.
The Typhoon is believed to have taken off from the airport around 10.50am, before flying around the Dorset skies for nearly an hour.
A spokesperson for the RAF said: "A RAF Typhoon from RAF Coningsby, Lincs completed a routine raining sortie today, which included a practice diversion to Bournemouth.
"The RAF uses civilian airports all over the country for training as they provide unusual & differing airspace and approach challenges for our crews, to ensure we remain ready and able to deploy on global operations."
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a familiar sight to many in Dorset, with the aircraft appearing at Bournemouth's annual air festival for many years.
The aircraft entered Dorset via Fordingbridge and Alderholt around 10.30pm.
