STEPS at a popular Dorset beauty spot will be closed for “essential maintenance” next week.
The steps leading to Durdle Door beach will be closed from Monday, January 9.
Lulworth Rangers said the steps leading down to neighbouring Man O’ War Beach will remain open.
A spokesperson for Lulworth Rangers said: “Our steps down to Durdle Door beach have been working as hard as you guys have this year and are need of some TLC too.
“Therefore, they will be closed for essential maintenance next week starting Monday 9th.
“The steps down to Man O' War will still be open.”
The spokesperson added: “Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
The work is due to take five days.
The beach attracts thousands of visitors each year due to its famous limestone arch.
Durdle Door is part of the Jurassic Coast and it was awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO in 2001.
