A SPATE of arrests have been made following an alleged robbery in north Dorset.
The robbery took place at approximately 4.30 pm in Sherborne on Monday, January 9, when an 18-year-old man was reportedly assaulted and had his headphones stolen.
The headphones, which were broken in the incident, were later recovered by police.
Following the incident, a 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man – both from Sherborne – were arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Furthermore, a 16-year-old boy from the Yeovil area was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty.
Both 16-year-old boys were also arrested on suspicion of assault by beating of an emergency worker.
All three have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Police Sergeant Matt Whetham, of West Dorset Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Officers swiftly attended and three people were arrested in connection with the incident.
“There was an increased police presence in the area yesterday afternoon while enquiries were conducted and the investigation is now continuing.”
