ROADWORKS on a busy roundabout are continuing to cause delays for motorists.
Four-way traffic lights remain at Iford Roundabout as SGN carry out repairs to a “major gas leak”.
While temporary repairs were made to the gas network last week, specialist equipment is still needed to achieve a permanent fix at the location.
The utility company initially said the specialist equipment would be delivered to the site on Wednesday, January 11.
A week on, these bespoke repairs have still not been carried out, and SGN are unable to confirm an end date for the works.
A spokesperson for SGN said: “Temporary repairs were made to our gas network at the Iford Roundabout last week, however, specialist equipment is required to make a permanent repair at this location.
"These bespoke network repairs will be carried out by our contractors later this week.
“At this time, temporary traffic lights remain in operation on the approaches to the roundabout for everyone’s safety.
"These lights are being manually operated to manage traffic flow in the area.”
The company has also been carrying out emergency works in Barrack Road in Christchurch for a gas leak.
SGN say this has now been completed, and that each of the lanes closed on the eastbound and westbound carriageways have been re-opened.
