The town centre had become cramped during Victorian times, so wealthy residents in Poole began to move to the outskirts.
One of those places was Ashley Cross.
Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine that was ever the case with its bars and restaurants providing a buzz that attracts people from miles around.
And as the pictures show, the area has even changed in living memory - probably by mean than you could at first remember!
