A CRASH involving a car with L-plates in Poole is causing "standstill traffic” in the surrounding area. 

Emergency services are currently attending a crash on the A35 Commercial Road, through Ashley Cross in Poole. 

It is believed the incident, which involves a grey Suzuki Swift and a Vauxhall Grandland, happened at around lunchtime on Wednesday, January 25.

The fire service and ambulance service appear to be in attendance. 

A Dorset Police spokeswoman said the force was called to a two-car crash at 12.17pm on Wednesday, Jnauary 25 in Station Road, Poole.

She added the road was blocked and recovery was needed. There have been no reported injuries.

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue service woman said: "We were called to an RTC on Commercial Road, Poole at 12:24pm today.  

"One fire engine from Poole attended and on arrival found two vehicles involved but no persons trapped.  

"Firefighters assisted with making the vehicles and scene safe before leaving the incident with the police.  

"The stop message came through at 12:53pm and they left the incident shortly after."

A spokeswoman for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 12.17hrs to a road traffic collision in Poole. We sent a double-crewed land ambulance and an operations officer and are currently on scene.”
