Bournemouth Airport has been named among the Top 5 in the UK, according to new research from Which?
The consumer choice site surveyed 7,000 people about their experiences of flying from UK airports between July 2020 and July 2022, which saw Bournemouth claim the fifth-best spot.
It was only beaten out by Southampton, London City, Liverpool John Lennon and Exeter.
While the top airports are small and offer fewer destinations, they’ve been named the best and are considered to give passengers a better experience.
What happens if you miss your flight due to airport delays
Bournemouth Airport had a customer score of 76%, which was only slightly behind the top two of Exeter and Liverpool John Lennon at 83%.
Bournemouth Airport ranks highly in the UK
Each airport was rated based on its customer score, queues at check-in, bag drop, security and passport control.
Airports also received a score for baggage reclaim, seating, staff, prices in shops, range of shops and toilets.
Bournemouth did well in most categories and even scored a 5/5 for the 'Queues at security' section.
In most areas, it scored 4/5 including 'Queues at check-in desk', 'Queues at bag drop', 'Baggage Reclaim', 'Seating', and 'Staff'.
It only received two stars in two categories for 'Range of shops' and 'Prices of shops'.
Bournemouth Airport offers a smaller number of journeys compared to some of the bigger airports such as Heathrow, but the individual experience of passengers seems to be of consistently high quality.
