A 'GASSY' butcher’s van in Bournemouth prompted a road closure and a fire brigade response last night.
Police and the fire brigade were called to a van parked in Danesbury Avenue, in Tuckton, close to midnight on Friday, February 3.
Residents reported smelling gas outside their homes and reported a gas leak.
They say emergency gas staff attended and found the source to be two LPG bottles leaking inside a Renault van.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called and firefighters from Christchurch and Springbourne attended, along with police who were called to assist the fire brigade.
A DWFRS spokeswoman said: “We were called at 11.37pm on Friday, February 3 to reports of a smell of gas coming from a van.
“The bottles were in the back of the van, which was isolated by firefighters. Two breathing apparatus were used and one main line.
“Crews from Christchurch and Springbourne attended and our stop came at 12.21am.”
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “We were called to Danesbury Avenue to assist with the fire service.”
