FAST food giant McDonalds has opened its new restaurant in Christchurch on Wednesday.
The new restaurant opened its doors at Christchurch Retail Park at 11am and saw a busy first lunch service.
The restaurant is the 19th opened by the franchisee, Tony Bennett of Bennett Restaurants Ltd.
The global fast food chain has eight other restaurants in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole conurbation, including one other in Christchurch.
The new branch is on the site of the former Pizza Hut unit at the retail park.
Plans were approved for the restaurant by the BCP Council planning committee in September 2021, with hopes of a summer 2022 opening, which were delayed.
A manager at the new restaurant said she was happy with how the opening had gone.
“We’ve got lots of great job opportunities, we’ve hired fantastic members of staff already,” she said.
“We’re really excited about the prospects that the restaurant can bring to the local community and the industrial estate.
“We’re really looking forward to working with local businesses and also really happy with everything today.”
