CHRISTCHURCH'S new McDonalds will create 110 new jobs for the local area.
The new restaurant, which opened on Wednesday, February 8, will be open 24-hours a day, and boasts all the latest innovations from the fast-food chain.
This includes integration with the My McDonald’s app, which allows customers to order and pay for their meal ahead of time.
The app then sends a notification to the kitchen when the customer is within 100m of the restaurant, so each order is prepared fresh.
Table service, self-service kiosks and a drive-thru are available at the restaurant, as well as click and serve, which allows customers to park and have their orders bought out to them.
The restaurant has a separate ‘McDelivery only’ area, where delivery drivers can go in and out of a dedicated courier entrance and service area. This aims to allow couriers to collect orders more efficiently, reduce congestion in the dining area, giving dine-in customers more space.
This branch is the nineteenth opened by franchisee, Tony Bennett, of Bennett Restaurants Ltd.
Mr Bennett said: “I’m thrilled to be opening my second Christchurch McDonald’s restaurant. It’s a beautiful part of the country and has a great community. My team and I enjoy working with the local community and we’re looking forward to being able to provide a lot of employment in the area and building on our current community links.”
