A CAFE in Bournemouth is set to reopen in the spring, BCP Council has confirmed.

Fox Cafe, in Redhill, was closed by the council in November for the winter, citing usage levels.

The council said that after opening the cafe as a trial throughout the winter of 2021-22, it made the decision based off of information gathered to keep the cafe closed this winter.

It said the decreased trade over the winter is a “seasonal norm”.

There was some speculation from residents that the cafe would be closed permanently, but the council said this was not the case.

In November, a council spokesperson said: “No changes to long term operating arrangements of Fox Cafe have been made and the intention is to open again around spring 2023.”

The council has confirmed that plans still include opening the cafe in the spring.

Fox Cafe is a part of the Park Cafes family, which is owned and operated by BCP Council. Money spent at the cafe is used to improve the local parks.
