A PUB has closed temporarily following the sudden death of a woman.
The woman, who was aged in her 20s, died at The Angel Inn in Longham following a medical incident on Saturday afternoon.
Hall and Woodhouse, which owns the pub in Ringwood Road, said it is assisting authorities with their enquiries.
Dorset Police officers and paramedics attended the pub on February 11.
A spokesperson for the force said there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
Anthony Woodhouse, chairman of Hall and Woodhouse, said: “I am shocked and devastated to learn that a guest who was dining at The Angel Inn in Longham tragically lost their life on the afternoon of 11th February, following a medical situation.
“Our team is working closely with the authorities in their enquiries to understand how the terrible event occurred.
“We have decided that The Angel Inn will remain closed until further notice as a mark of respect to the guest and their family, and in consideration of our team to whom we are providing ongoing support.”
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: “At 4.32pm on Saturday 11 February 2023, Dorset Police received a report of a sudden death of a woman in her 20s at the Angel Inn in Ringwood Road, Ferndown.
“Officers and the ambulance service attended. It is not believed that there are any suspicious circumstances. The woman’s next have kin have been informed and the coroner has been made aware.”
In an update on the morning of Tuesday, February 14, Hall and Woodhouse said the Angel Inn will reopen at 12pm today on reduced hours with food served until 8pm and closing at 9pm.
