TRAVELLERS parked more than a dozen caravans in an unauthorised camp in a Bournemouth car park.
Fourteen caravans along with travellers have arrived in Hengistbury Head car park in Broadway, Southbourne.
The council is aware of the situation and a risk assessment is being taken for the unauthorised encampment.
Dorset Police have carried out a number of visits to the car park and will continue to monitor the situation.
A spokesperson said: “BCP Council is aware of an unauthorised encampment at Hengistbury Head car park consisting of 14 living units and associated vehicles. A needs assessment and risk assessment has been undertaken.”
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 6.40pm on Friday, February 17, of an unauthorised encampment in a car park at Hengistbury Head in Bournemouth.
"Officers have carried out a number of visits to the site and are liaising with those present as well as the local authority.
"We will continue to monitor the situation and work with our local partners and will take appropriate further action if required."
An unauthorised encampment containing 14 caravans was set up over the weekend in Poole Stadium’s car park.
