FRUSTRATION is being felt on a Dorset road network currently blighted by separate emergency repairs to burst water, sewage and gas mains.
Wessex Water is repairing a burst sewer main on the B3081 Ringwood Road in Verwood with the current estimated end date for the works planned for Friday, February 24.
This means a road closure is in place near Virginia Close with the signed diversion via the B3072 in Three Legged Cross.
In a public statement, Dorset Council has asked residents and motorists to “bear with” repair workers and urged them to obey diversion routes.
A spokesperson said: “Emergency incidents are, understandably, causing frustration in the Verwood area and these are leading to delays. Everyone is working to get these fixed as quickly as possible, so please bear with them.
“To add to the frustration, on the diversion route there are two burst water mains and a gas escape, which South West Water and SGN are dealing with. Temporary traffic lights are in place and the utility companies are working to make the repairs as quickly as possible.
“Ebblake Industrial Estate should only be used for access to businesses and homes. Otherwise, please use the signed diversion. We appreciate this will add time to your journey, but avoiding the industrial estate will help those people who do need to access it.
“Please be assured we are also carrying out enforcement checks in the area and dealing with vehicles that are causing an obstruction.”
