‘INAPPROPRIATE’ graffiti has been sprayed over a rainbow flag on buildings in Dorset and is expected to cost more than £5,000 to repair.
Graffiti has been reported on at least six buildings in the Blandford area recently containing “inappropriate words” on rainbow flags.
Police say it is estimated the costs to repair the graffiti could be more than £5,000.
A 27-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and released on police bail while enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for North Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police will investigate reports of this nature and we would like to thank the local community for assisting with our enquiries, including providing CCTV.”

He added: “There have been a number of reports recently of graffiti involving rainbow flags with inappropriate words around Blandford.
“It was reported that graffiti was drawn on at least six buildings, with an estimated cost of over £5,000 to repair.”
It is unclear what words were sprayed on the walls.
Earlier this month an NHS worker's van was sprayed with the words ‘no hope scum’ in Bournemouth.
