A POOLE company is helping in a project to break a motorbike land speed record.
MouldCam is playing a part in the 52 Express project, piloted by Guy Martin and headed by former GP and TT sidecar racer Alex Macfadzean. The company was approached for its expertise in mould making.
The project hopes to set the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) Motorcycle World Land Speed Record.
It is supported by a team of volunteers who have previous experience of breaking Land Speed Records, both on two and four wheels, bike racing, motorsport and engineering.
Production for the special motorbike is well under way.
Michael Kenney-Herbert, business development manager of MouldCam said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be part of this project.
“Our favourite projects are often the ones that have never been done before or that others consider impossible to build. We use advanced 3D design and engineering technology, combined with some of the world’s largest format 5-axis CNC machines.”
The target date for the record attempt is in 2024, but the team will be testing throughout 2023.
