A MAN has been banned from a Morrisons Daily shop in Dorset after saying his girlfriend would poo in the store.
Gary Charles Talbot, 43, whose address was given as Mereddin Close in Weymouth, appeared before Weymouth Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 23 where he pleaded guilty to one charge of using threatening or abusive words designed to cause harassment, alarm, or distress.
It relates to an incident on October 29 of last year at the Morrisons store in Littlemoor Shopping Centre, Weymouth, in which Talbot picked up some alcohol and approached the check-out.
When at the checkout he referred to the shop worker by name and said ‘you’ve really p***ed me off’. A verbal exchange then followed before a customer interjected to ask Talbot to stop shouting.
Victoria Hill, prosecuting, said that at one point Talbot told the shop worker his girlfriend would defecate in the store and asked the victim to meet him outside the shop.
Ms Hill said the victim felt ‘intimidated that he was going to be assaulted’.
Talbot told the court he had had his ‘buttons pushed’ but accepted he was at fault.
Ian Humphreys, chairman of the bench of magistrates, imposed a restraining order prohibiting Talbot from contacting, directly or indirectly, his victim and banning him from entering the Morrisons at the Littlemoor Shopping Centre for a period of 12 months.
