TWO Poole business managers have been appointed as new directors for the town’s Business Improvement District (BID).

Poole BID has appointed the general manager of the Delfino Lounge bar and a manager of LUSH Spa as two of its new directors – replacing a community stalwart shop owner.

Jeanette Walsh, who owns retro sweetshop Truly Scrumptious, has decided to step down from her duties within the town BID.

She said: “My fifth-year anniversary of involvement with Poole BID is fast approaching and I have decided it’s time to step down as a director.

“My business has also grown during this time, which is great news and so I need to spend more time concentrating and developing this and I am unable to give the BID the hours of commitment I have given over the years. I will always champion Poole BID and look forward to watching its success.”

Replacing Jeanette is Luke Bennett, general manager of Delfino Lounge in Falklands Square, and Ross Rutt, trainee store and spa manager at LUSH Spa Poole in Old Town.

Luke said: “I joined the board of Poole BID because I'm passionate about hospitality and the community of Poole and making it a better place both for visitors and businesses.”

Ross added: “Coming with a decade of experience in the retail industry I will work with levy payers and stakeholders to help future proof their businesses through a particular focus on exceptional customer service, customer retention and how to generate new and exciting ideas that draw more people in.”
