POLICE have been called to an area of Poole this afternoon, with a helicopter spotted searching the area.
Witnesses have seen three police cars and an ambulance near Culliford Crescent in Canford Heath this afternoon, on Thursday, March 2.
A police helicopter has also been spotted above the heathland area and a cordon is reportedly in place for part of the heath.
Dorset Police and South Western Ambulance Service have both been contacted for more details.
A forensics team has been spotted on the heathland.
Ward councillor Sean Gabriel said: "The police are dealing with a serious incident on Canford Heath in the heath land itself opposite the entrance to Knowlton Rd.
"The officer on scene requested for everyone to keep away as they have had issues with some young people earlier trying to get too close."
