FOUR more people have been arrested following the stabbing of a man in Wimborne.

Dorset Police were called at around 9.50pm on Sunday, February 26 to reports a man had been stabbed at an address in the Leigh Gardens area.

A man aged in his 50s was taken to hospital for treatment to suspected stab wounds, which were believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

Detectives from Dorset County CID have been continuing to investigate the incident and have made a number of further arrests.

An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both from Wimborne, as well as a 35-year-old man from Fordingbridge in Hampshire have all been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A 38-year-old woman from Wimborne has also been arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Following initial enquiries, a 15-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man, both from the Wimborne area, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and released on police bail.

An 18-year-old Poole man was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and he remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Dave Horn, of Dorset County CID, said: “This has been an extensive investigation as we carry out detailed enquiries into events of the evening of Sunday 26 February 2023.

“I am continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity or who may have captured anything of relevance on home CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcams, to please get in touch with police.

“I would also urge residents in the area to please check their gardens for anything that could have been discarded.”
