A FLOOD alert is in place for Christchurch Harbour.
The Environment Agency is warning that flooding is possible this morning with a large tidel surge expected to overtop sea defences.
Details on the alert posted online by the Environment Agency said: “We expect flooding to affect Christchurch Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon.
“We are closely monitoring the situation. Please be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and roads.”
High water is expected to be at 10.30am on Thursday, March 9.
The Environment Agency said flooding to roads and properties is possible, however, conditions may only apply one to four hours either side of high tide.
