TEACHERS across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are preparing to take part in the latest round of strikes.
Members of the National Education Union (NEU) from schools in the conurbation will be taking part in the national strike action on March 15 and 16.
They will join tens of thousands of colleagues striking across the country, after members voted "overwhelmingly" in favour of the movement.
It will be the third and fourth days of teacher strike action this year as the union continues to seek pay increases for teachers which match cost of living increases, and for any pay rise to be fully funded in school budgets.
While the NEU has already met with the government on the matter, no increased pay offers have been made to date.
NEU senior regional officer, Ian McCann, said: “It saddens our members to have to take further strike action in particular as the governments in Scotland and Wales have negotiated with the unions and put forward fully funded offers that have resulted in their strikes currently being suspended.
"We call on the government to do the right thing and to make a pay offer that will end this strike and ensure the education sector gets the money it needs.”
