THE RNLI have helped a man in difficulty onboard a boat in the waters off Poole.
Poole Lifeboats were requested to launch at 11.20am on Saturday following reports of a vessel adrift in Holes Bay with one person onboard.
The person had been working onboard the vessel when the mooring line accidentally came free.
With no engine onboard and the individual unable to get back to their tender due to lack of wind, they made a call for help.
Once on the scene, the RNLI crew secured the vessel to a mooring close by and returned the person to their tender which was in shallow water.
Poole Helm Dave Riley said: "The person thankfully had a means of calling for help and we were able to get to their location quickly before the tide dropped making the situation worse.”
The lifeboat was returned to the station at 12pm.
This was the 12th launch for Poole RNLI volunteers this year.
