POLICE chased a caron Monday evening after spotting its occupants “acting suspiciously” in Poole.
A police helicopter was also deployed to carry out searches of the car, after the occupants reportedly fled the scene.
Officers out on patrol on Monday, March 20, spotted people in a car “acting suspiciously” in Heath Avenue at the junction with Wimborne Road in Poole at approximately 4.35pm.
After the vehicle failed to stop for the police, it then drove into Canford Heath.
It was then reported the car had been left in Abingdon Road and the opccupants had fled, before officers carried out searches of the individuals involved assisted by the NPAS helicopter.
No arrests have been made.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: “At approximately 4.35pm on Monday 20 March 2023 officers spotted the occupants of a car acting suspiciously in Heath Avenue at the junction with Wimborne Road in Poole.
“The vehicle failed to stop for police and drove into Canford Heath.
“A further report was received that the vehicle had been left in Abingdon Road and the occupants fled the scene.
“Officers attended and recovered the vehicle. Searches of the area were carried out, assisted by the NPAS helicopter, to try and locate the individuals involved.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the incident. No arrests have been made.”
