STUDENTS at a school in Lymington have been celebrating the success of their donation appeal for a New Forest food charity.
Priestlands School students collected hundreds of items, from toiletries to food, for the New Forest Basics Bank, to support people in their area, as a part of a whole school citizenship project.
The charity aims to provide food and other essentials for people in need across the New Forest.
Student representatives said about the donation drive: “We feel it is extremely important to support those who need basic items such as food and hygiene products as the cost of living is so high.
“We are happy to have contributed to our local area and are proud of the overwhelming support from our families and friends.”
Headteacher of Priestlands, Peter Main, said: “I am very proud of our students and delighted they recognise the importance of supporting our local community.”
Hilary Tudor, trustee and operations manager of New Forest Basic Bank, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive these wonderful donations from Priestlands. We are grateful for the support of our local community, especially the involvement of students from Priestlands.”
