BOURNEMOUTH Airport has continued ramp up for the upcoming summer season with flights to five destinations starting in the next week.
The flights start just in time for the Easter holidays, with Ryanair routes to Budapest and Majorca starting this Sunday, March 26, as well as a brand-new service to Edinburgh.
Next Friday, March 31, Ryanair will begin its flights to Girona, as the airline has expanded its operations out of the airport.
Europe’s biggest airline now has 18 flight destinations from Bournemouth, after it decided to base a second aircraft at the airport, expanding capacity by 30 per cent to 120 flights per week.
Bournemouth Airport’s other major operator, TUI, will start its flights to Majorca from next Saturday, April 1.
TUI offers 14 scheduled services out of the airport, meaning passengers can fly to 35 destinations from Bournemouth in 2023/24.
Bournemouth Airport managing director Steve Gill said: “This is always an exciting time for us because it’s when we start to see the number of flights increasing as we gear up for the main start of the season in May.
“We’re delighted to see Ryanair’s brand-new service to Edinburgh which is among three new destinations from them for 2023, including Venice year-round and Carcassonne. And with TUI also flying to Majorca there’s even more choice for local passengers.”
The airport is running a competition to win pairs of tickets to Carcassonne, Edinburgh and Venice, to celebrate Ryanair’s new routes. The closing date for the competition is March 31.
