THIS footage shows the extent of oil in Poole Harbour following a pipeline leak on Sunday.
The footage was captured by Poole resident Amanda Houghton this morning.
As reported, 200 barrels of 'reservoir fluid' was released into the water at Poole Harbour.
The leak occurred at a pipeline operated by Perenco under Owers Bay.
Following the reported incident on Sunday afternoon, Poole Harbour Commissioners declared a major incident with a number of agencies involved including BCP Council and Dorset Police.
Poole Harbour Commissioners said the pipeline was shut down and booms placed on either side of the leak.
On Sunday, Perenco said the fluid comprised approximately 85 per cent water and 15 per cent oil.
As a precaution, people have been urged to avoid using the water in the harbour for recreation purposes and also avoid the beaches within Poole Harbour.
Jim Stewart, CEO of Poole Harbour Commissioners, said: "It is unlikely that there will be any long term health effects from short exposures (eg days).
"Anyone who has come into contact with the spill should wash immediately with soap and water for ten minutes. If eyes have come into contact with the spill, they should be rinsed with water.
"Anyone who has been exposed to fuel oil and is feeling unwell please contact NHS 111 or seek medical attention from your GP."
