NO DATE has been decided for the opening of Lidl’s newest store in Dorset yet – despite the building looking nearly complete.
Builders are currently working on the new store in Christchurch Road, West Parley which will create around 40 jobs in-store.
Lidl’s aim was to open at some point in spring, but rumour amongst the community is that its opening has been delayed and a spokeswoman for the company told the Echo “the opening date is still to be confirmed”.
She would not expand on whether there was a delay to the supermarket’s opening or why.

Construction began in October and, once up and running, it will have an in-store bakery, customer toilet with baby changing facilities as well as ample parking for cars and bicycles.
The supermarket will form part of a massive development lined up for the land east of New Road.
Bellway Homes submitted their plans to erect 386 new homes, retail units including the Lidl store, office space and new greenspace.
The store’s proposed layout is also expected to “integrate well” with future phases of the West Parley development.
