As part of their tour in 1963, the Beatles played the Gaumont - now the Odeon - in Bournemouth for six nights.
One of the fab four’s first live performances of She Loves You took place in the town - it was their latest single at the time/ They were at the Winter Gardens that November and at the Gaumont again the next year.
Paul McCartney came back a decade later to play the Winter Gardens with Wings in 1973.
These pictures were taken at the Winter Gardens in 1963 and show the crowds as well as the police at the big event.
